Parke paints in the back of the
gallery.
|

He even makes his own frames!
|

Bonnie makes her beads up front.

Luke, I am your Father!

We live with a dog, three shop cats, eight
home cats, and a parrot that meows...
|
Introducing the Tripod Greeting Squad! |
|
Yamni and Sly are the official greeters.
(when they are awake, that is) |
|

She even helps at the torch! |

Desmond is the boss of our lives. He keeps the cats in line.
He used to like to come to the gallery more often -
until we remodeled our livingroom
and put in another little window.
Now that he has an improved view of his kingdom
(from his perch he can see the front yard, the side yard, and the neighbor's yard!) he chooses to stay home
and keep an eye on things.
He also hangs out with Parke
at the home studio.

Over the Rainbow Bridge . . .
there is not a day that goes by that I do not grieve for these wonderful girls who used to live in our gallery: |

Mamma Kitty was a feral alley cat who gave birth to a litter of kittens on the roof of our gallery! We did not realize it until the kittens were about 8 weeks old! We trapped the entire family. One woman took 3 of the kittens.
A very nice man adopted
Random, and returned him
two years later when he got married. (Yay!)
Elvie and Mamma Kitty became our first shop cats.
We worked so hard to tame Elvie, but we never expected Momma would ever trust us.
But within 2 months of getting fixed,
she let me pet her for the first time!
Then she decided that everyone should pet her, all the time. She was an awesome shop cat!
|

Toots supplied us with white hairs
and loved to hug people.
|

Poppy flirted in the window.
|
|
We realized Bozeman had outgrown us when Walmart came to town.
Our friends Jeff and Shirley had a record store in Livingston, but they were moving to Cincinnati -
so we took over their lease.
|
BEFORE!

This is the Studio when we moved in, June 1997. |

It took us three months to remodel!
Mom and Dad helped scrape off the windows. |

Queen of the Saw Dust!
We tore down two walls, built all new walls,
and made our own moldings and baseboards. |

After dry-walling the place, we discovered that the entry way was completely rotted out.
So Parke put in new floor joyces and we put in some slate!
Princess Diana died while we worked on this floor.
I never even thought about her before,
but I wept like a baby while grouting these tiles. |

Glazing the new drywall. |
Then came the carpet.
Then the fireplace.
Then moving everything from our old studio
at the Emerson Cultural Center....
|
AFTER!
In September of 1997 we opened our doors! |
And two months later, we found our house.
When we saw the condition IT was in, we actually cried.
Fourteen years later, we are still working on THAT project
and there is no end in sight.....
but we DO have the cutest little kitchen, that's for sure! |
